GroCo • Owner • Spotlight: Grace Crickette

"I became a GroCo member because it will be a great economic boost to our community and I like good food."

This is Owner #227, Grace Crickette, the Vice Chancellor for Administrative Affairs at UWW! We sat down to learn a little about her to find out her thoughts on becoming an Owner.

Tell me a little about yourself: job, hobbies, obsessions, etc.
Vice Chancellor….a.k.a. Obstacle Remover.  Hobbies: making music, cooking, traveling, painting; no obsessions.

Why did you become an Owner of the GroCo?
I became a GroCo member because it will be a great economic boost to our community and I like good food.

What's your favorite recipe? Why? What is the recipe if you don't mind sharing?
I love to cook and I do like reading recipes, but I don’t always follow them….Most often I stick my head in the fridge and see what happens.  The last impromptu dish was simple.  I had a container of whipped cream cheese that I had intended to make icing with during the holidays…did not happen. I needed to use it up – my inspiration ingredient.  I needed something for lunch.  Took the container of whipped cream cheese, two cans of white chicken meat, chopped some wilting spring onions, pumpkin seeds, golden raisins, lots of curry powder and mixed it up.  Very tasty.  I would love to be on the show Chopped!

What's the quirkiest/funniest thing that's ever happened to you in a grocery store?
My grocery store experiences have been tranquil – nothing quirky or funny.
